Chen Juner is a competitive professional swimmer from China. He’s mostly known when he broke the World Junior Record in the 200-meter butterfly category during the 2022 Chinese National Swimming Championships.
Breaking the World Junior Record
The 18-year-old Juner successfully broke the record with the time of 1:49.61, which wasn’t only broke the Chinese national record and his lifetime best, but also the former record set by Eddie Wang from Taiwan in 1:49.89 during the semifinals of ISL.
Not so much information is known about Chen Juner except the fact that he’s one of the skilful swimmers from China. During the previous years Olympics Trials meet, Juner scored a time of 1:56.77 in the long course.
Now, he improved it substantially to 1:49.61, which made him the 9th fastest swimmer in the world in all-time, and the 4th fastest swimmer in Asia ever. His time also made him the first Chinese who can get under 1:50.
National and International Career
According to World Aquatics, he also attended some international events, including the 16th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) 2022 when he participated in various medley relays and the 19th FINA World Championships Budapest 2022 when he competed in the 50-meter butterfly event.
Two years before attending the 2022 Chinese National Swimming Championships, he also participated in the Chinese Summer National Championships where he competed in the 100 and 200-meter freestyle and finished in 11th and 4th respectively.
