Call of Duty on PlayStation for years to come? Microsoft proposes a deal to Sony

The case of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard is still dragging on – one of the bones of contention is the presence on other hardware platforms of the Call of Duty series. However, this is mainly about PlayStation consoles, and the giant from Redmond was to offer Sony an agreement on this matter.

The largest transaction in the history of video games, which is to be the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, still cannot take place. The deal, worth $69 billion, was not finalized due to protests from regulators, including the European Commission, regarding the possible distortion of competition in the video game market.

One of the main opponents of this solution (which is not surprising) is Sony, which is afraid of, among others, the future of the Call of Duty series on PlayStation consoles. However, Microsoft was supposed to devise an initiative to solve this problem for a long time.

According to the information on the web, the giant from Redmond was to offer Sony a contract. The developers will offer further installments of CoD on the Sony platform for the next 10 years. In addition, Microsoft is to respect all agreements entered into by Activision Blizzard in the past and will pay the company $ 3 billion even if the acquisition does not take place.

All these activities are intended to convince regulators to make a positive transaction decision. We are talking about as many as sixteen entities. The “green light” has been issued by Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and Serbia, while the decision is still pending from the European Union, Great Britain, or the USA.
