CD Projekt RED is following suit, further developing the Cyberpunk 2077 brand. In addition to the expansion and the new part of the game, the company wants to release the production in a special version.
One of the most popular Polish studios shared its exciting plans for the coming years a few weeks ago – CD Projekt wants to develop such promising IPs as The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, while not forgetting about the new initiative, the first brand created from scratch, for which we will have to wait a long time.
Enthusiasts of the futuristic Night City can get ready for more attractions. There will be a paid Phantom Liberty expansion on the market next year, and after its release, the developers will start work on the sequel. After solid and thorough preparation of the project, the team will start pre-production, which will most likely start after 2023. However, this is not the end of interesting news.
CD Projekt will release Cyberpunk 2077 GOTY next year. During the presentation at the Warsaw Stock Exchange Innovation Day, Adam Kiciński, the president of the company, announced that the preparation of a new edition of the game is an obvious procedure, identical to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
“It’s the natural order of things – it was the same with The Witcher, which after both expansions was finally released as Game of the Year Edition and has been on the market that way ever since. The same can be expected in this case. It’s pretty obvious.”
Cyberpunk 2077 in the GOTY edition would be a complete version of the item, which will have a large update and the Phantom Liberty expansion. The main representative of CD Projekt emphasized that the special edition will be “full price”.
“The target version of “Game of the Year” “CP2077” will be just after the update and including the new expansion. This version will be available at “full” price. What else to expect here.”
The future of the brand seems extremely promising, and players are eager to continue reaching for the title that originally debuted in 2020. According to the latest financial report, the company could boast of the best third quarter in the history of its operations.
