Microsoft Office is also available for phones in the form of an application that will soon get a new version. Now we find out that the giant from Redmond decided to bury the two existing functions. The mobile Microsoft Office for smartphones will be deprived of some options this year.

Office will soon be replaced by Microsoft 365. We also know that redesigned apps are on the way recently unveiled. By the way, we got to know the planned changes and new features. However, it turns out that in the mobile version, two options will soon disappear. This will happen in just a few weeks.

Microsoft plans to deprive Office for phones of the file transfer option. It is based on QR codes and allows you to send documents between a mobile device and a computer. The solution can be replaced by OneDrive and will therefore be removed on December 31, 2022.

The second feature of the mobile Office suite that gets killed is Nearby Sharing. In this way, you can quickly transfer files between nearby devices. However, it does not currently meet all the requirements and will therefore also be phased out at the end of this year.
