Philips is entering the gaming market with the new Evnia series

A few hours ago, it became known that the well-known manufacturer Philips wants to enter the gaming market with a new product family called “Evnia.” It starts with a gaming monitor with the rather complicated designation 34M2C7600MV.

Competition for the existing gaming brands?

The Philips Evnia 34M2C7600MV is a brand-new 34-inch curved gaming monitor. It has significant features and an attractive design and could therefore represent a serious competitor for existing monitors from well-known gaming brands.

The technical data

As already mentioned, the model is 34 inches tall – a VA panel with UWQHD resolution and mini-LED backlighting. This creates a brightness of 1400 nits. The refresh rate is 165 Hz, and the resolution is 3440 x 1440 pixels with a contrast ratio of 3000:1.

Depending on the area of application, you can use different HDR modes, such as HDR Premium or HDR Basic. It is a monitor with a curvature of 1500R and a viewing angle of 178 degrees.

You can use the LowBlue mode or the FlickerFree technology to protect the eyes. There are also several game modes, for example, the RTS mode for real-time strategy games or the racing mode for a particularly fast reaction time.

The lighting effects of the Ambiglow lighting additionally support the effects on the screen. Two devices can be controlled with one keyboard and one mouse and switched back and forth between them.

Various devices with a maximum of 90 watts can be charged with USB-C via the monitor. In addition, Philips has also installed two loudspeakers with 5 watts and a DTS sound. The manufacturer hasn’t skimped on the connections either. In addition, the gaming monitor is height-adjustable by 150 mm and can be rotated and tilted.

Great design for a proud price

The design is also impressive. It impresses with an overall modern look – the base has been kept quite simple. But what will be even more interesting to know for most is the price. The monitor will be available in stores from December, and it is not exactly cheap. Other, also cheaper, models of the Evnia series are to follow next year.
