Super fast and cheap – The new Canon R6 Mark II

Recently, the famous camera manufacturer Canon presented its new model, EOS R6 Mark II. It is strongly based on the Canon EOS R3 but is supposed to be cheaper and a lot faster.

Better features at a lower price

In terms of technology, the new model is very similar to the top model, which goes by the name of Canon EOS R3. The sensor of the two cameras is almost the same. With the R6 Mark II, however, Canon has increased from 20 to 24 megapixels, a resolution of 6000 x 4000 pixels. In addition, the processor is a slightly faster one – one from Canon’s proprietary DIGIC-X series.

In addition, the new model has an automatic autofocus that recognizes motifs fully automatically. But if you prefer to set it manually, you can continue to do so. The autofocus impresses with its accuracy and fast response, and the image and video quality are also impressive.

Here is a video that was filmed with the Canon EOS R6 Mark II:

If the model is switched to the electronic shuttercontinuous shots of up to 40 frames per second can be shot. Light and sharpness are adjusted at the same time. However, if you shoot with a mechanical shutter, only 12 frames per second are possible – you can then use a flash for that.

Good stability and great video capabilities

Canon promises shake compensation of up to 8 apertures – the image stabilizer of the EOS R6 has been improved again for this. Furthermore, according to tests by Computer Bild, the camera has video functions at a professional level: If desired, it can be filmed in 6K RAW format, but this requires the connection of an external recorder.

Otherwise, you can record with 4K60p with oversampling, and a pre-recording function starts filming five seconds before the recording. Focus breathing is also possible with selected lenses.
