Who Is Alessandro Miressi

Alessandro Miressi is a competitive swimmer from Italy. Born on October 2nd 1998, he’s the current world record champion for the 4 x 100-meter freestyle relay and national record holder for the 100-meter freestyle.

As for the long course, Miressi was also the champion when he competed in the European Championships.

Career

The man began his long years of international swimming career many years ago. Back in 2015, he joined the European Games and won the silvers for the 100-meter freestyle and 4×100 freestyle relay.

Within the same year, he competed in the World Junior Championships and stood on the podium as the bronze champion with his fellow teammates.

A year later, at the 2016 European Junior Championships, specifically, the man won the gold for competing in the 100-meter freestyle and 4×100 mixed relay. A silver was also won at that championship in the 4×100 freestyle relay.

In 2017, he was originally passed for the World Championships, but during the competition, he was later disqualified, along with the team, during the 4×100 meter freestyle relay final event.

However, at the end of the year, Miressi competed in the European Short Course and won a silver medal in the 4×50 meter freestyle relay along with the team.

2018

In June 2018, Miressi competed in the Sette Colli Trophy, which was held in Rome, and ended up winning the first position with a time record of 48.25, a new record both for his personal best and Settecolli.

2021 World Short Course Championships

Some years later, he participated in the 2021 World Short Course Championships which was held in Abu Dhabi. At the 4×100 meter freestyle event, Miressi successfully got the silver medal while breaking the new Italian record at 3:03.61.

On the next day, the man got a gold medal for winning the 4×50 meter freestyle with a time record of 1:23.60, and 20.61 split time.

Another gold was obtained days after in the 100-meter freestyle. Miressi won it beautifully in 45.57, a new Italian record, effectively breaking the record set by himself on the previous day.

In 4 x 100 meter medley relay, he got the gold medal again with the time of 45.57, a new Italian and Championships record.

2022 World Championships

A year later, he participated in the 2022 World Aquatics Championships held in Danube, and competed in various events, including the 4×100 meter freestyle where he won a bronze. At the 4×100 meter medley relay, he got the gold medal with the time recorded in 3:27.51, a new European and Italian record.

In 100 meter freestyle, Miressi got a bronze medal after finishing bronze after David Popovici and Kristof Milak.

A gold medal was obtained a day after when he finished first in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay with a split time of 47.76. Reaching 3:10.50, the team finally got the gold.

Later on, he joined the team in the 4×100 meter mixed freestyle relay, and won the fourth place in 3:23.6, only milliseconds away from the bronze medalists. Sometimes later, Miressi competed in the 50-meter freestyle preliminaries, although didn’t advance.

However, Miressi and the team closed the competition nicely with another gold medal after they won the first place in the 4×100 meter medley in 3:28.46, a new record for the Championships.

2022 World Short Course Championships

During the 2022 World Short Course Championships, Miressi opened his winning-spree journey with a gold medal after reaching the first position in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay with the team. Their time was 3:02.75, which effectively made them the winner.

On day three, a bronze medal was obtained in the 100-meter freestyle after he finished in 45.57. Later on, he joined the team in the 4×50 meter freestyle relay and won a silver in 1:23.48.

An additional gold medal was won in the 4×50 meter medley relay, although Miressi was substituted by Leonardo Deplano. However, Miressi successfully set a new European record in the 4×100 meter medley relay in 3:19.06.

2023

This year, Miressi joined the 2023 Italian National Spring Championships held in Riccione. That time, Miressi got a silver medal in the 50-meter freestyle right on the first day. His time was 22.12.

He carefully made his way to pass through the competition in the 100-meter freestyle, and ended up winning the event in 48.61.

In the same day, another gold medal was obtained in the 4×100 meter medley relay. His split time was 48.37, which helped the team to reach 3:34.68. On the final day of the competition, Miressi joined the team in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay, and got a gold again after placing first in 3:14.60, a new Italian club record.
