PELOTON TESTING POP-UP ADS TO APPAREL STORE DURING COOLDOWN OF BIKE CLASSES: “SHOP THE INSTRUCTOR’S LOOK”

Peloton is testing an after-class pop up advertisement on the Bike tablet that allows members to shop for the instructor’s look. From recent days, the pop-up was seen during the cool down section of select classes on the Peloton Bike/Bike+.

“Shop Leanne’s Look” pop-up

An alert will be displayed on the left-hand screen in classes that have the feature being tested. It will appear between the feed bar and the music bar when the cooldown begins. “Shop Leanne’s Look” will appear on the alert. Click the button to send Leanne Hainsby’s look to your email.

After you click the button the alert will instruct you to check your inbox for the message and then the alert disappears.

An email is sent immediately with the subject line “Instructor-approved items you love” and links to Leanne’s Push your Boundaries Double Layer One-Shouler Bra as well as the Push You Boundaries High Rise Rib Insert Pocket Legging.

This summer, a new Peloton patent suggested that these kinds of features might be coming. It specifically mentioned pop-up notifications for the leaderboard.

The feature currently appears only on the Peloton Bike, not the iOS and Android apps or the web browser. Peloton is currently testing the feature in select classes. However, it may start appearing more often as they roll out the feature.

What do you think about this new feature? Is it something you would use?
