Power Zone Bar Now Available at Peloton Studios New York

Exciting news for Peloton riders at Peloton Studios New York (PSNY)! The cycling studio has recently updated their bikes to include a power zone indicator during power zone classes. This update was initially shared on the Peloton Reddit page by user u/Due_Fill608.

Until May of this year, the Peloton bikes at PSNY did not display power zones, even if members had previously set them up by taking a Peloton FTP test. However, now when you log in, you will be greeted with your power zone bars appearing at the bottom of the screen, provided that you have set them up beforehand.

It’s worth mentioning that connecting an external heart rate monitor to the studio bikes is still not possible at this time.

The addition of the power zone bar will surely be a relief for power zone riders who attend or plan to attend in-person classes. Previously, they had to rely on methods like sticky notes, memorization, or writing on their arm to remember their zones during the class. This update eliminates the need for such creative means.

However, it is important to keep in mind that the bikes in the studio may have different calibration settings, so the displayed zones should be taken with some caution.

For those who are unfamiliar with Peloton Power Zone training or the FTP test, there are numerous resources available on the Peloton website to provide guidance and information.

It is worth noting that last year, Peloton also introduced the target power zone indicator, which helps riders determine the appropriate zone they should be riding in during their workouts.

For those who have previously attended power zone classes in the studio without having their zones available on their tablets, this recent change is likely to be met with excitement.
