Peloton’s Cody Rigsby Auditioned For Ken In The New Movie ‘Barbie’

Barbie film enthusiasts, listen up! Peloton coach Cody Rigsby just shared that he tried out for the part of Ken in the Barbie movie. Greta Gerwig, the writer and director of Barbie, specifically asked Cody to audition. This scoop came out during Cody’s chat on the Out & About podcast with Pat McAuliffe and Joey Camasta from Barstool Sports. Catch the whole interview on YouTube

The podcast hosts inquire if Cody watched the Barbie movie. Cody responds affirmatively, expressing his love for it. The hosts suggest Cody would have been a fantastic “Ken.” Cody then spills the beans, saying, “Want an exclusive? I auditioned for it – for Ken, yeah. Back in February last year, I auditioned for Ken. I never told anyone that, by the way.”

Cody goes on to reveal that the entire interview happened over Zoom, and he was specifically invited to audition. He explains, “I was told that Greta asked for me personally… I guess she’s a fan or takes my rides. So, I auditioned. Honestly, I’m not a great actor, but I nailed that audition. I don’t know what happened after that. But, you know, you throw it out there, and it is what it is!”

During this interview, Cody doesn’t specify which particular “Ken” role he auditioned for. An update to note is that Greta Gerwig has reportedly mentioned creating “the” Ken role with Ryan Gosling in mind, so it’s likely that Cody auditioned for “a” Ken role in the movie.

In case you missed it, earlier this summer, Peloton organized a special class series dedicated to the Barbie movie

You can catch the entire podcast with Cody on episode 201 of Out & About from August 23, 2023, wherever you usually listen to your podcasts. Alternatively, you can also watch it on YouTube
