Peloton has just released one of the most requested features for power zone bikers, for the Peloton Bike & Bike+ – a visual indicator to show you on which zone you should be based on the zone that the instructor has indicated – also known as the “target power zones”.
Peloton’s new target power zone indicator is very simple and effective. A white box will highlight the zone that you should be in (based upon the callout from the coach) when you take a Peloton Bike class.
Peloton describes the feature like this:
A little box will appear around the Power Zone that the instructor has designated. This will provide you with a visual cue that will help you track your progress and push you toward the target zone.
This will only be visible if your FTP has been set on the Peloton Bike.
The target power zone indicator will not be visible during warmup and cooldown, especially in spin-ups and flat roads. This is because instructors may not always cue to a particular zone during these sections of a workout.
Peloton stated that this will only be available for classes that were recorded from January 2022 forward, but they promise to make it available in all new recorded classes. The full disclaimer is as follow!
Power Zone classes before mid-January 2022 do not support target power zones. However, they will be available in Power Zone classes that include movements. All new Power Zone classes will be supported by target power zones.
Are you excited to be able to use this feature?
