Peloton released updates for Peloton Tread equipment located in the United Kingdom and Germany to activate the Tread equipment after it has been dormant.
As of the 11th of January, members can wake the Tread by either pressing the power button, using the stop button, or spinning one of the knobs.
On Facebook, the Official Peloton UK Member Group was informed of the following news by Peloton:
The ability to wake one’s Treads is now available to owners. When the Tread tablet is turned on but not actively being used, by hitting the stop switch, using the speed or incline knobs, or pushing the power button located on the Tread tablet’s backside, users now wake up the device. It is not possible to wake up the Tread by tapping on the touchscreen of the tablet. We are dedicated to giving each of our members an experience that is unparalleled in its category.
As you may have seen, the notification mentions that the release will additionally disable the capability to merely push the screen to wake up the device. This feature will be removed after the update. However, this is not the case at all. Several users have reported that they are still able to use the screen in order to activate it.
It is important to note that the process of turning the device on after it has been entirely turned off has not been altered in any way. Because this release is only applicable to awakening the Tread when it is in “sleep” mode. Additionally, it should not be turned off all the way.
