Peloton on Tour 2023 Announced

This morning, Peloton unveiled their exciting new event for 2023: “Peloton on Tour.” This event takes the place of the traditional Peloton Homecoming that used to happen every spring in New York City. Peloton had teased the arrival of Homecoming for its members this year, and “Peloton on Tour” is the exciting outcome.

Update: The first event in Los Angeles now has details, information, and pricing available. It provides more insights into the format of the Peloton on Tour event and the weekend.

Update 2: You can get an overview of the Peloton Instructor Experience here, and learn more about the Peloton Outdoor Walk & Talks here. Plus, there’s a free group workout class you can read about. Finally, get the full scoop on the class tapings that happened on Saturday, complete with details and photos.

Update 3: If you’re interested in the Peloton on Tour event in Atlanta, you can find all the details and the schedule here.

Peloton’s Global Journey is set to take fitness enthusiasts on an exciting adventure across various cities worldwide this upcoming fall and winter. During each leg of the tour, Peloton will transform each city into a three-day celebration, featuring a plethora of weekend events, the opportunity to meet Peloton instructors face-to-face, and a chance for local communities to come together. What’s more, in every city, there will be a special segment called the ‘Leaderboard Awards,’ recognizing outstanding local members nominated by their peers.

Here’s an interesting tidbit we uncovered in one of the event’s FAQs: ‘Instructor-led classes, recorded at each tour stop, will be accessible through the Peloton platform or Peloton App One and App+.’ This suggests that in each city, there might be a makeshift studio or perhaps even the utilization of existing spaces (similar to Cody Rigsby during Dancing With the Stars filming) for instructors to record unique classes for that location. These classes will be available to all Peloton members, just like the regular ones. However, it remains uncertain if these studio spaces will be large enough to accommodate in-person class participation, and whether these classes will be available for purchase.

Peloton aptly describes the event as follow:

“We’re taking the show on the road to share the Peloton magic with you! Brace yourself for a chance to bond with your beloved instructors in a whole new way, via social media highlights, workouts, discussions, live class recordings, and more. Come along for a three-day community fiesta that’s open to all.”

The mention of “Class tapings” in the description has piqued curiosity, yet it remains rather enigmatic.

Peloton’s last in-person Homecoming event was in 2019, when the entire Peloton community converged for an epic weekend in New York City. Unfortunately, the in-person gathering for 2020 was canceled, and subsequent years transitioned into virtual affairs. Since then, Peloton’s community has flourished to nearly 7 million members, making the demand for such events quite overwhelming. Moreover, not everyone can or desires to travel to New York City. Peloton’s aim with Peloton on Tour is to spread the Peloton enchantment worldwide, offering members a taste of the Peloton experience, whether it’s through personal interaction with instructors, community events, or other remarkable encounters.

Today’s announcement of Peloton on Tour provides us with the event dates and a general outline of what to expect. We had the opportunity to chat with Peloton to gather additional insights, though finer details about the activities at each tour stop will be disclosed a month prior to each event.

Here’s a rundown of where Peloton on Tour will be heading in 2023.

Peloton On Tour 2023 Events: Locations & Dates

  • LA, California – July 13-15, 2023
  • Atlanta, Georgia – August 17-19, 2023
  • Chicago, Illinois – October 5-7, 2023
  • Berlin, Germany – October 19-21, 2023
  • London, UK – November 30 – December 2, 2023

The “Peloton on Tour” is all about bringing Peloton beyond your screens and the PSNY studio, giving people worldwide a firsthand look at what Peloton represents. This event isn’t just for current Peloton members; it’s open to everyone. It’s a chance for existing members to connect with fellow enthusiasts and meet some of their favorite instructors in person. Plus, it’s an excellent opportunity to introduce Peloton to those who might not be familiar with it or haven’t joined yet.

Peloton will be teaming up with local partners in each city they visit. For instance, in Chicago, they’ll collaborate with The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation for certain events. Peloton and the foundation have worked together before on the Logan’s Seated Adaptive Strength program, and they’ve even participated in a virtual event with Logan.

Most of the action will happen at showrooms in each city, but there might be some special events held at other locations (the exact details are still being ironed out).

While the tour stops are happening, regular classes will continue at PSNY and PSL. The full instructor team won’t be traveling to every city; you can expect a few instructors at each stop (the specific instructors will be announced one month in advance). However, Peloton seems to have sorted out some work visa issues, allowing UK instructors to join the US stops and vice versa.

Since there’s usually a few weeks between each tour stop, Peloton can make small adjustments based on what they learn as the tour progresses. Member feedback and suggestions will also contribute to these improvements.

As mentioned earlier, Peloton is introducing the “Leaderboard Awards” as part of the Peloton On Tour. Local community members can nominate others to be recognized by Peloton and the instructors. Each city will have five different award categories, and nominations will open when tickets go on sale (30 days before each event). The award ceremony will be one of the events in each city, and winners will receive tickets from Peloton to attend and be honored with an award and a special gift package.

We’re hitting the road to honor YOU. Every high-five, tag, meet-up, and in-studio class you join makes our community stronger and more extraordinary. You can nominate yourself or another remarkable member for a Community Leaderboard Award. Share with us why your nominee deserves recognition by submitting a one-minute video or a 250-word paragraph.

You might notice that New York City isn’t part of the tour. This is because Peloton already hosts many special events at PSNY throughout the year, and they’ll continue to do so. They also have bigger events like the All For One Music Fest (which happened in August last year, but we haven’t received any information about this year’s event yet).

Peloton on Tour aims to offer people who can’t travel to the studio a chance to experience what Peloton has to offer. On the other hand, London is included as the final tour stop because the UK is still a relatively new market for Peloton. Having a stop at a studio with more space and a fixed location might lead to some exciting surprises for the tour’s grand finale.

Peloton will release a full schedule of events in each city, along with information about which instructors will be attending, 31 days before each tour stop. Tickets for each weekend will be available for purchase at 12:00pm ET the following day, 30 days in advance. This gives you one day to explore the various events and make your decision. For those interested in the Los Angeles, California stop, tickets will be on sale starting from June 13th.

If you’re wondering when tickets go on sale for Peloton on Tour, you can purchase them on:

  • June 13 – Los Angeles
  • July 18 – Atlanta
  • September 5 – Chicago
  • September 18 – Berlin
  • October 31 – London

The schedule and the list of instructors attending will be unveiled just one day before each of those dates.

Peloton, unfortunately, can’t share the exact ticket prices for the events at the moment. But they have confirmed that if you want to attend multiple events in a single weekend, you can purchase tickets for more than one event happening. However, you’ll be limited to buying a maximum of 2 tickets per each specific event. The decision is still pending on whether all events will require tickets due to limited space in showrooms and other venues, or if there will be some free events during the weekend. You can expect to receive this information 31 days before each event when the schedule is revealed for each city.

There won’t be a virtual tour stop as part of Peloton On Tour because the focus of the tour is to bring the community together in person. However, they’ve mentioned that, just like the events at PSNY, they will continue to host other virtual events throughout the year, although they won’t be part of the Peloton Homecoming on the Road (Peloton On Tour) event series.

Before the cancellation of the Peloton 2020 Homecoming event, many people had purchased tickets, and those tickets were later refunded. However, Peloton also sent complimentary gift packages to everyone who had bought a 2020 Homecoming ticket, in addition to the refunds. As a result, there’s no expectation of granting first priority to ticket-holders from the canceled 2020 event.

Will Peloton Homecoming make a comeback in 2024, whether as a virtual or a grand event in New York City? It remains uncertain, and it is likely contingent on the success of Peloton On Tour. However, with nearly 7 million members, Peloton On Tour will undoubtedly offer more people the opportunity to be part of a significant event compared to what Homecoming provided. Therefore, it’s challenging to envision a return to the previous in-person format.

With Peloton’s fresh rebranding effort, you’ve likely noticed marketing campaigns, and even the instructors themselves, sharing messages like “Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere.” Peloton on Tour appears to embody the spirit of “Anyone” by allowing anyone to purchase a ticket and experience it, and “Anywhere” as they take their instructors and the Peloton experience to various cities across the globe.
