Peloton’s Android App Offers Now The Ability to Preview Classes

The newest Peloton Android app brings a fresh feature that lets members check out a class right within the app. Before this update, you could only do this on hardware devices, not on the app or web browser.

Now, with the latest Android app update, users can get a sneak peek of a class for 45 seconds before deciding to join. But keep in mind, unlike the Bike and Tread devices that allow you to jump around and watch any part of a full class, the Android app only gives you a 45-second glimpse of a specific segment.

If you’re using an Android device, you’ll notice a fresh icon up in the top left corner when you’re on the class details page. Just give it a click, and you’ll get a 45-second sneak peek. It’s got 2-3 random snippets from the class to give you a taste.

Here’s the deal: when you’re browsing the list of classes in the on-demand library on your Android app, that “friends” icon is still there. It tells you how many of your Peloton buddies have taken that exact class.

But here’s the twist: once you click into the class to see more, the “friends” icon magically transforms into the “preview” icon. Don’t worry, though; the info from the “friends” icon now hangs out under the class image. It used to show only the subtitle, but now it’s got some company.

At this moment, the cool new preview feature is hanging out exclusively on the Android app, not the iOS one. And just so you know, not every class on the Android app has this fancy preview icon yet. We’re expecting it to pop up for more classes and maybe even make its way to the iOS app, though we can’t say when exactly that might happen.

Speaking of updates, last week, the Peloton iOS app got a neat feature that lets you change the app icon’s color. The Android app, however, hasn’t had the pleasure of this update.

So, whether you’re an Android or iOS user of the Peloton app, do you reckon having the ability to sneak a peek at classes right from the app would be handy for you?
