It’s worth noting that while it’s referred to as a program and has a structured format, it’s not being released as a formal Peloton program. Instead, you can find all the Total Strength: Density Training classes grouped together in a collection. But don’t worry, you can still access a list of all the classes just like any other Peloton program.
The release of this program is happening gradually, one week at a time, every Monday at 10:00am ET. This pattern will continue until all four weeks are available by June 5, 2023. The first week’s classes are already up and running. So, if you’re curious about how to join Andy Speer’s Total Strength: Density Training program on Peloton, the answer is simple: just take the classes one by one. There’s no need for any formal sign-up process.
The great news is that the Total Strength: Density Training classes with Andy Speer are open to all members, not just those with the Peloton Guide subscription. However, if you are a Peloton Guide member, you’ll have access to the rep tracking feature, which allows you to monitor your repetitions and the total weight lifted.
Curious about what density training means on Peloton? Andy Speer himself took to Instagram to provide some answers. According to him, Peloton’s density training involves dedicating a specific time block and progressively increasing the workload within that block each week. You’ll either raise the number of repetitions or the amount of weight, ensuring that your overall work volume grows over time.
Andy emphasizes that Total Strength: Density Training falls into the intermediate category. The movements and exercises are at an intermediate level, but the intensity at which you perform them edges towards the advanced. This program is designed to challenge your strength and conditioning limits using fundamental exercises.
To make the most of this program, Andy suggests that you’ve already completed his Total Strength 1 training program. This way, you’ll have a solid foundation in the exercises and the capacity to handle these 20-30 minute classes. While experience with Total Strength 2 or Ben Alldis’ The Stronger You program is helpful, it’s not essential. The more experience you have, though, the better you’ll be at selecting appropriate weights and pacing yourself.
Each week offers three classes. Day 1 and Day 3 consist of 30-minute full-body workouts, incorporating exercises like presses, pulls, rows, and deadlifts. Day 2 is a 20-minute session that focuses more on the upper body and core but is still considered a full-body workout.
Andy’s recommended schedule suggests taking Day 1 on Monday, Day 2 on Wednesday, and Day 3 on Friday. However, he’s flexible, allowing you to incorporate your cardio workouts and even longer format strength sessions like Friday 45 or Saturday 60.
